Titanium hues and orange accents
Winter storms are the perfect backdrop for writing a newsletter.
As I'm writing this there is a winter apocalypse going on outside. We already have more than 12 inches (30 cm) of snow and it doesn't look like it's going to stop until the evening. So if I lose power, at least I managed to sneak out this post before the internet went bye-bye.

✂️ Craighill Chroma Scissors
One thing I'm always struggling with is the concept of a multiple purpose tool vs single use. Would you prefer one multitool that can do everything or a small selection of dedicated tools? Which side of the argument I land on depends on how I wake up that day. Lately, I've been leaning more towards one dedicated tool that does a job really well, and that's partly because of the Chroma Scissors by Craighill that I was recently gifted.

The Chroma scissors are a classic giant pair of giant metal scissors and using them is so satisfying. I don't know when the default pair of scissors became the cheap plastic scissors that come three to a pack, but getting a good pair of scissors is a small luxury of life. These come in a few different color combinations, but obviously the one with a hint of orange is the one to get.
🎒 Japan Packable tote
I don't know if you've noticed lately, but the Winter Olympics just happened. While it has been fun to pretend like I know what's happening in a sport I've never heard of, my favorite part has been the random merch drops. Most of them have been silly t-shirts or cheap hats with country flags on them but occasionally there has been something that made its way to my cart. Just like this Adidas packable tote.
*edit: apparently this is World Cup merch, not Olympic merch. Duh.

It's a tiny backpack with a small carabiner so you can carry it easily. You can attach it to your main backpack or even just to your belt loop on your way out the door. Then when you need a bigger bag it just unfolds into a full-sized tote. I already have a small packable tote for when grocery shopping but it doesn't turn into a cute little backpack like this one. I need more clever lifehacks like this to add to my EDC so if you have any let me know!
🧳 Rimowa Titanium luggage
I've always been vaguely aware that premium luggage was a thing but I've been living the one-bag life for so long I never even bothered to fall down that rabbit hole. Unfortunately, that ended as soon as I saw this random luggage I had never seen before drop in a sick titanium color. So I decided to look up the brand. After staring in disbelief at the price for the appropriate amount of time and realizing I would never buy one, I realized that I have seen this luggage before. They're everywhere! But this titanium color is uniquely sick.

It's very reminiscent of the raw titanium iPhone (the best color) and just like the classic aluminum color, this luggage is one of those items that only gets better with time. The scratches and dents are a part of the story to the point that Matty Benedetto of Unnecessaryinventions designed stickers to point out when and where each dent happened. The only downside to this titanium luggage is that it's not actually titanium. It's just aluminum. Still, I would love to see how this looks in ten years with the aluminum underneath peeking out.
