The Last Cool Supply of 2025
3 pieces of gear that made my EDC.
This is officially the last Cool Supply issue of 2025! I told myself that I wouldn't do an end of year wrap up kind of article but everyone else on the whole damn internet is doing it and I guess the FOMO got to me. So these are the three essential pieces of gear that I found myself using basically every day. I'm trying to avoid the obvious ones like my phone or computer, so instead I'm focusing on the smaller items that I didn't even realize I relied on until I started thinking of this list.
in this issue:
👜 Topologie Phone Sacoche
🧰 TOYO Steel T-152
📔 Leuchtturm1917 Notebook
Topologie Phone Sacoche
Yeah I know, it's a purse. And if you don't have one you're really missing out. I don't know when or why purses became a thing only women use but having extra pockets and organization is 100% underrated. Topologie makes a bunch of different kinds of bags but the one I went with was the Phone Sacoche. It's intended for your phone (as the name implies) but there is no law saying I can't use it for everything else.

Having a few key items in the purse means I can keep my pockets clear for more important things like old receipts and gum wrappers. I use it to hold everything from my film camera and Field Note to Listerine strips and a flashlight. The pro move is pairing it with the leather phone strap (also from Topologie) but they also make other straps if leather isn't your thing. Filled up, the whole thing is still slim enough to slip comfortably under my jacket when I want to be a little more discreet. Overall, this combo was probably my favorite pickup of the year and I don't know how I went so long stuffing my pockets with so many things.
Toyo Steel T-152
Another item that I didn't realize I relied on so heavily until I sat to think about it is the T-152 stacking storage box from Toyo Steel. Only I don't use it for storage. It turns out that this steel box perfectly fits almost all of my pens, pencils, and markers. I usually have a separate tool roll for tech like chargers and cables but I'm also very big on analog tools as well. I like my mechanical watches, physical notebooks, and of course pens and pencils.

I have two main bags that I use everyday (the weather dictates which one gets used every morning) so moving a handful of pens and pencils everyday between them just got very annoying. More than once I've forgotten my pens at the bottom of the other backpack and ended up penless all day. Now they all go in this steel box, and this steel box goes from one bag to the other. It keeps everything tidy and organized but my favorite part is that as it gets all dinged up from commuting it only looks better.
Leuchtturm1917 Notebook
I've tried many different notebooks over the year but the one that I've settled on since 2018 is the Leuchtturm1917 with the dotted grid pages. I discovered the Bullet Journal system many years ago and have more or less been using it to guide my daily productivity ever since. I mainly use these books for monthly/weekly planning and leave the daily to-do lists for my Field Notes but towards the end of this year I've been going back to basics and using my Leuchtturm1917 for everything. One notebook to rule them all!

My Field Notes is now designated as the quick brain dump notebook which has been working for me so far. I have a shelf full of used the black notebooks so for 2026 I decided to actually go with a color and I picked up a bright orange. Mainly because orange is always easy to spot in the bottom of a bag and if we're being real, orange is the perfect accent color.
