Grail glasses and MagSafe!
I need my time back. Pokemon has stolen it.
I wrote this entire issue in Samsung DeX which has been super fun messing with, but I still can't figure out how to easily edit images on here. So for now, I'm back on my actual laptop. I've tried the web-based Photopea but it's riddled with ads and looks like an even worse GIMP editor if that's even possible. I've been using Pixelmator which I love but it only works on Apple computers. So if you have any recommendations for a Photoshop-like experience on Android let me know.

I'm a sucker for a good MagSafe accessory. Slapping tiny useful gadgets onto the back of a tiny useful little gadget is the kind of stuff I live for. I've loved MagSafe on Apple devices for years and Pixelsnap (Google's version) the main reason I picked up a Pixel 10 Pro. I have a small mountain of MagSafe accessories that work perfectly on iPhone and Pixel. I've been excited to expand that usefulness to the next Galaxy phone but for reasons I can't understand, Samsung decided to not include any magnets in its phones again this year. So to use any of my accessories with the new S26 Ultra requires a dedicated case which is stupid, annoying, and expensive. Still, I can't stop falling for dope MagSafe accessories like this one from Aulumu.

I had never heard of this company before but I saw someone post about them on Threads, and now I see this company everywhere. The industrial aesthetic perfectly fits the vibe of the new Ultra phone or even the Nothing line of phones. There is no shortage of small MagSafe tripod thingies, but ever since losing my Moft tripod a few weeks ago I've been on the lookout for a new one. I think I've found it. Thank you algorithm.
🤓 Masahiromaruyama glasses
Every once in a while I come across something that is way too expensive, but gets added to my "one day maybe I'll get this" list. It's not a very long list and some of the items are just unobtainable. Some examples from this list includes the Tudor BB58 watch, the Elektron Digitakt, and the GoRuck GR2 (which I finally pulled the trigger on a few years ago). One item that I have not been able to justify yet are the MM-0074 glasses from Masahiromaruyama.

I'm not sure how I found them or when but every time I go to get my eyes checked I have a furious debate with myself about whether I should get these. Thankfully, I always talk myself out of it as they're almost $800 and while I've made some ridiculous splurges in the past, this would be on another level. So instead I always pull up a picture of them on my phone and then go with whichever dupe I can find on Eyebuydirect or whichever similar looking pair comes free with my insurance. One day.
🎮 Pokemon Pokopia
Nostalgia sells. And the newest Pokemon game is hitting me right in my cozy gamer feels. Like most millennials I have fond memories of playing the Pokemon games when I was younger. I used to commute with my dad into Brooklyn every day to and from school, so I had roughly two hours to play my Game Boy each way. A significant portion of my elementary school years were spent playing Pokemon in the backseat. Then during lockdown in 2020 I got super into Animal Crossing (like everyone else) and spent way too many hours planting and fishing. Some genius decided to combine the two with Pokemon Pokopia and I've been hooked.

I'm only about three hours so far but it's exactly the kind of relaxing, mindless game I've been looking for. You play as a Ditto that has transformed into a human-shaped blob in what looks like a Minecraft wasteland. As you rebuild the area, Pokemon appear and teach you moves like cut and water gun that help you further rebuild. There's a deeper (and supposedly darker) story happening here as well but I've done a pretty good job at avoiding spoilers so I'm curious to see where it goes.
